Playing around with the concept of laser boxes
We have had positive feedback since Protoype launch on our itch.io page for this game title. And we are excited about what the future of this game title holds.
Further to the initial release of the game, we have gone ahead and are prototyping new ideas in the game, including the concept of laser beams. We are still tinkering with this idea, but the whole concept of this is that - basically - these laser beams can allow the player to work with the concept of connected boxes within a specific physical spaces in the game. These connected boxes can expose a number of new mechanics when it comes to gameplay.
There are a number of ideas in terms of how this can all go and what exciting game play mechanics this can unlock. The possibilities are wild. We intend for future dev logs to uncover some of these mechanics we are working on as we flesh things out.
So how does the concept work? Basically:
- There are laser beams of different colour that can be activated by a number of boxes which can be connected (and moved around).
- These boxes can direct these laser beams to transmit and reflect beams in different directions.
- These laser beams have an intended target to hit. Once they hit that target, something magical should ideally happen - which will allow for player progression. How these targets are hit are part of the puzzle's equation.. well, this should be fun.
Looking to keep you folks updates as we move along..
